8-9 May 2013 (Bangkok, Thailand)
ADRC participated in the Workshop on Standard Operating Procedures under the project Synergized Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) for Coastal Multi-hazards Early Warning System, which was hosted by Typhoon Committee of UNESCAP and held at the United Nations Conference Center (UNCC) from 8th to 9th May 2013 in Bangkok, Thailand. At this Meeting on Keynote address session, ADRC gave a presentation on Local Disaster Management Plan case of Hyogo Prefectural government and Kobe city and several good practices of community based disaster risk management activity. And participating member countries introduced their existent Standard Operating Procedure for Early Warning System in each country. Participants discussed issues to be solved as following:
- Consideration of Definition a Standard Operating Procedure
- Difference of Design of Early Warning System in each country
- For better activity such as Capacity Building
More active discussion among all of participants will be expected for the future activity.
