The typhoon also forced more than 2,400 people to be evacuated in Gwangju and other southwestern towns due to flooding before it weakened to a tropical storm early Thursday, according to National Disaster Prevention and Countermeasures Center at (South) Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA).
