2026/04/11 Papua New Guinea : Tropical Cyclone Over 10-11 April 2026, tropical cyclone MAILA continued moving very slowly over the Solomon Sea, causing very heavy rainfall, strong winds and consequent floods, landslides and severe weather-related incidents across eastern Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. Media and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) reports, as of 13 April, 11 fatalities (of whom eight are due to a landslide), seven still missing persons, an uncertain number of displaced people. 2026/04/10 Indonesia : Flood Heavy rainfall and strong winds affected the Java island, Indonesia over 10-12 April 2026, causing floods and strong wind-related incidents that have resulted in affected population and damage. 2026/04/09 Solomon Islands : Tropical Cyclone On 9 April 2026, tropical cyclone MAILA continued moving very slowly over the Solomon Sea, with maximum sustained winds up to 185 km/h, weakening. Its passage over the Solomon Sea caused very heavy rainfall, strong winds and consequent floods, landslides and severe weather-related incidents across eastern Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. 2026/04/08-2026/04/08 Indonesia : Earthquake An earthquake of 4.9 M at a depth of 10 km occurred in the northern Savu Sea, between the islands of Pulau Solor and Pulau Lembata, on 8 April 2026. 2026/04/06-2026/04/08 Fiji : Tropical Cyclone Between 6 and 8 April 2026, Tropical Cyclone VAIANU passed close to the western coasts of Fiji, causing displacement of people and damage to property.
