Flood situation has worsened in northern part of the country as water level of major rivers witnessed a rise with erosion at some places in last 24 hours affecting millions of people. Thousands of people were trapped by floods in submerged villages Friday as heavy rains drove thousands from their homes to seek refuge in schools, community centres and mosques in northern Bangladesh, officials said.
