At least four people -- three children and one adult -- were killed.

The latest figures bring the total number of flood victims to 250,000 since the rains erupted two weeks ago, pounding three other cities in the Loreto province.

ICRC 1999/06/24
Following the heavy flooding that devastated Coronel Portillo province, the ICRC assisted 23,000 people for about 10 days. A total of 5,000 families living in 150 villages received food aid and hygiene items.
