According to authorities, over 3.2 million people were affected in 16 districts. Over 250,000 houses have been fully or partially damaged and more than 25,000 people are displaced. Since 25 July, 38 people (mostly minors) had drowned and four were killed from snake bites due to flooding.
After the northern districts, flooding in the central part of Bangladesh is worsening with the death toll rising up to 42.
