Over 40 Killed in Floods After Storm Ida Dumps Record Rainfall in New York and New Jersey
Remnants of Hurricane Ida are unleashing dangerous flash floods and tornadoes across the Northeast, including New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. At least 8 people have died in New York City and New Jersey.
Ida left more than 1 million without power. It has already contributed to five deaths.
Ida is anticipated to reach at least Category 4 strength before landfall, the National Hurricane Center said.
