Training Program DescriptionThe CDMC provides training and expert advice on the management of disasters and disaster threats to governments, non-governmental and intergovernmental organisations in Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and the former Soviet Union, Asia and the Caribbean. It also provides training and technical assistance for disaster management capacity building which covers disasters resulting from natural triggers-droughts, earthquakes and cyclones- and from triggers that are result of mankind`s activity-industrial accidents, transport accidents and the complex emergencies-terrorism and conflict. CDMC programmes promotes, building disaster management capacity and institutions, development programmes that reduce vulnerability, training programmes with different sectors, improved emergency response and disaster preparedness, an analysis of the role of the military in humanitarian action, the operational and management requirements of agencies working in complex emergencies, the importance of public and environmental health management, improved management of programmes involving refugees and displaced persons.
