Outline 41 provinces of the departments of Puno, Cuzco, Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna, in Southern Peru, and the departments of Apurímac and Ayacucho, in the Central highlands of Peru, have been affected by severe cold weather, snowstorms and heavy rainfall since the last week of June, 2004.
