|Outline||On September 18, 2011, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck isolated Himalayan regions in India, Nepal and Tibet. At least 18 people were killed. The worst affected area was the northern Indian state of Sikkim, the epicentre of the quake where at least 18 people have been killed.|

As of 23 September, the Government reported 92 earthquake related deaths, with 71 deaths in Sikkim State, 12 deaths in West Bengal and nine deaths in Bihar.
58 people have died in Sikkim State, West Bengal and Bihar in India.
