| Outline | Prolonged heavy monsoon rainfall from 5 July 2026 caused flooding, flash floods, waterlogging and landslides across Cox's Bazar District, Bangladesh including the refugee camps and surrounding host communities. By 9 July, 304 weather-related incidents had affected 5,863 households, equivalent to 28,091 people, across 33 camps. The event damaged 3,127 shelters, displaced 4,732 people, and resulted in 15 deaths and 18 injuries within the camps. Flooding also affected an estimated 80,000 people in host communities, with six additional fatalities reported. |
