    A devastating two minute long tornado lashed over six villages of Bagerhat District in southern part of Bangladesh (350 km south of Dhaka) on 4 March at 21:45 local time (15:45 GMT). According to the local media, the tornado destroyed approximately 500 houses, uprooted hundreds of trees and crops were destroyed. More than 500 families were affected, 4 people have been killed and more than 50 people were injured, 17 of them seriously.

    At least 3,000 people were turned homeless as the storm levelled more than 200 bamboo houses on Saturday night. Trees and electric poles were also toppled.
