India:Flood:2005/08/07

Duration2005/08/07 Floods and landslides triggered by incessant monsoon rains killed at least 12 people and injured 30 others in the northern Indian state of Uttaranchal, officials said Sunday. The worst hit was Pithoragarh district, about 400 kilometers (250 miles) east of the state's capital Dehradun, where eight members of a family were killed when boulders flattened their home.
