At least 32 people were killed in fierce tropial storms that lashed many parts of Bangladesh, disrupting power supply, transport and communication links and badly damaging crops, while an opposition leader had a narrow escape when his chopper crashed due to inclement weather.
Officials said 21 of Bangladesh's 64 districts were hard-hit by this year's fiercest storms.
