Turkey:Earthquake:2004/07/02

Duration2004/07/02 A moderate earthquake, measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale hit the eastern province of Turkey, close to the Iranian border, at 1:30 am on Friday, 2 July 2004. Initiatal reports indicate 18 people were killed and 21 people were injured.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Yigincali village of 67 households.

    A moderate earthquake has hit villages in northeastern Turkey, reportedly killing at least 18 people and injuring 50, 20 of them seriously.
    The quake struck about 1:30 a.m. Friday (6:30 p.m. ET) and was centered near the town of Dogu Beyazit, local officials said.
    The cities of Agri and Igdir were also affected by the earthquake, with the village of Yigimcal hardest hit.
