Duration2002/07/22 After heavy flooding in Romania killed five people and destroyed hundreds of households and farms. About 1,500 households and 4,600 hectares (11,300 acres) of farm land were flooded and some 1,100 farm animals drowned when rivers burst their banks into towns and villages, destroying bridges and roads and cutting off electricity and telephone lines.
