Duration2002/07/04 At least two people were swept away by floods in eastern India's Bihar state while more than 8,500 people lost their homes in mudslides and flooding in neighbouring West Bengal.
On July 11, 2002, two children drowned in flood-hit northeastern India.The flooding caused by annual monsoon rains have forced 50,000 people from their homes in Assam.
