Philippines (the):Earthquake:2023/12/02

Duration2023/12/02 An offshore 7.4 magnitude earthquake with 25 km depth occurred near the municipality of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, Philippines on 02 December 2023 at 10:37 pm local time. A tsunami alert was issued by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS). The tsunami alert was lifted by PHIVOLCS at 3.23 am local time on 3 December. Over 700 aftershocks have been recorded, of which 6 aftershocks with magnitude 6 or higher and 13 with magnitude between 5 to 6.
