    The floods have affected about 80,000 people since June, In total, the Government estimates that 15,955 houses have been damaged, of which 5,492 have been completely destroyed.

    A government committee in South Darfur state said that 17 people had died and 6 others injured by the floods that swept through large parts of the state. According to the report, 1,515 houses have been completely destroyed while 2,911 were partially destroyed by the floods.
