Duration2015/06/01 A passenger ship carrying 458 people sank Monday night in the Hubei section of China's Yangtze River.
There were 405 Chinese passengers, five travel agency workers and 47 crew members aboard, according to the administration.

    Rescuers have retrieved the bodies of 434 victims a week after a Chinese cruise ship capsized on the Yangtze River during a fierce storm.
    The Eastern Star cruise ship, carrying 456 people onboard, was on an 11-day trip along the Yangtze River when it was overturned by a tornado on 1 June night in Jianli.
    More than 3,400 soldiers, 1,700 paramilitary personnel, together with 149 vessels, 59 machines and a helicopter, have joined in the rescue mission.

    The ship, named Dongfangzhixing (Eastern Star), sank at around 9:28 p.m. in the Jianli (Hubei Province) section of the Yangtze River, according to the Yangtze River navigation administration.
    The captain and the chief engineer, who have been rescued, both claimed the ship sank quickly after being caught in a cyclone.
    It was heading from Nanjing, capital of east China\'s Jiangsu Province, to southwest China\'s Chongqing city.
    Eight people have been rescued.
    Rescue work is hampered by strong wind and heavy rain.
