    Preliminary statistics collected as of 10 a.m. 8 September indicated that multiple quakes that jolted southwest China on 7 September have left 80 people dead and 820 others injured in Yunnan, as well as forced the relocation of 201,000 people and destroyed or damaged 430,000 homes. The quakes have caused direct economic losses of 3.69 billion yuan (581 million U.S. dollars) in Yunnan and Guizhou provinces, the Ministry of Civil Affairs said on 8 September.
