Training Program DescriptionCurrently the BCIT offers one credit course in Emergency Preparedness/Emergency Response by correspondence. It focuses on the reduction of the effects of disaster through established and proven emergency procedures. The course covers the time periods prior to, during, and immediately following an emergency, as well as long-range recovery. This course can be taken as part of the Certificate Program in Occupational Health and Safety. The program prepares students to understand the potential safety and health hazards of the work environment, as well as the human relations involved in seeking beneficial solutions and methods of improving the workplace environment.
