- Peculiarities of risk computations for natural and technological hazards;
- Methodological procedure for risk assessment;
- Complex risk assessment;
- Geographical information systems (GIS) and their development principles;
- Technology of modeling in GIS;
- Instrumental tools in GIS;
- Geographical information technologies and their application for emergency losses estimation and response;
- GIS technology application for risk assessment;
- Zonation of areas according to risk level and compiling risk maps using GIS technologies;
- Principles of risk management strategy;
- Technology of economic loss assessment following emergency situations;
- Development of GIS project for the territory of the country (region) the students come from.
After completing the training course students gain knowledge and experience in: - Computations of social, individual and economic risks;
- Risk management at state, regional and local levels;
- Development of GIS projects for the territory of the country (region) the students come from, providing different thematic input data bases (natural and techno-logical hazards, existing building stock, population, critical facilities etc.).
