Help Children Cope with Disaster¡¦¡¦ What You Can Do!

This training defines and illustrates the most typical symptoms children exhibit after experiencing trauma. It teaches activities and steps that staff can take to help children cope and overcome the effects of a disastrous event. Through the use of video, small and large group discussions, and small group activities participants will:
1. Identify common behaviors or symptoms that children may show after a disaster.
2. Learn how to set up healing environments for children.
3. Develop communication skills that can assist children in their recovery.
4. Discover and learn to use healing activities with children.
5. Recognize the importance of health and nutrition in a child recovery
