Natural Hazard Analysis

This course provides tools for analysing local vulnerabilities to natural disasters. Hazards analysis is the foundation for disaster planning because it allows jurisdictions and organisations to set response priorities and identify resources. Participants focus on the interaction between geological hazards such as earthquakes, landslides, flooding and the environment and the community or organisation. Exercise and workshops will also address hazard analysis during disaster response, including the role of planning/intelligence activities, action planning and integration of hazard assessment into the emergency operations.
