Health Emergencies in Large Populations/Health, Ethics, Law and policy (HELP I & HELP II)hb

The HELP course is a three-week intensive graduate level training course, taught in conjunction with the Medical Division of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Through the facilitation of the Center of Excellence, the HELP course has been taught for 6 consecutive years at the East-West Center located on the University of Hawaii Manoa Campus in Honolulu, Hawaii. The HELP Course was created by the International Committee of the Red Cross with the participation of the University of Geneva and the World Health Organization to meet the public health needs of health professionals working in emergency situations. The HELP is offered in two modules: the first two weeks will focus on public health interventions and the third week will deal with international humanitarian law, human rights, responsibilities of health professionals and ethics.

Some scholarships are available. Students must be proficient in English and complete an essay-type application for consideration. Continuing Medical Credits awarded to physicians.
