EM 200 Plan Elements and Checklists

Standard plan components will be discussed and the importance of compatibility between local, regional and state plans will be emphasized. Participants will apply standard plan chapters and sections to their own situations. Specific hazard-oriented checklists will be presented for different threats. The following sections will be covered: Managing Emergency Operations (Annex A), Fire & Rescue Operations (Annex B), Law Enforcement and Traffic Control Operations (Annex C), Resources and Support Operations (Annex K), and Checklist development. Checklist designs will be explained for all levels of an operation. The need for evaluation and approval of strategic checklists at the highest levels of the organization to ensure that the tasks are in conformity with the mission of the organization will be discussed. Development and testing of checklists, evaluation of hazards, and contingency plans if key people are injured or unavailable are further topics within this module
