This course will take place in San Jose, Costa Rica. There will be participants from the Americas and Europe. The objectives are to make a joint analysis of experiences and the scientific progress and to train in solving mass movement problems. Other topics that will be considered are geological aspects, modeling, characteristics of materials and alternative solutions, technical proposals for promoting policies and disaster prevention culture
