According to government figures, the number of casualties has risen to 308 people killed, 187 people injured and 4,776 houses having been completely destroyed.
Avalanches killed at least 286 people across Afghanistan last week, the bulk of the them in the mountainous province of Panjshir, around 150 kilometres (90 miles) north of Kabul. Some 1,250 homes were also destroyed by the huge sheets of snow, which engulfed whole villages as they swept down from the Afghan peaks after days of heavy blizzards.
For a third day in a row, heavy snowstorms caused avalanches in the Panjshir province on 26 February, bringing the total to 168.
92 people were killed and 26 were injured in avalanches.
